Blog Responses...uhhhh-MAYZING!
Wow,
I just have to say, for anyone out there who hasn't seen the Blog Video Responses, go to it right away because they are amazing!!
Video responses on youtube
It's creepy; most are shot and edited way better than mine. I love it! Thanks for making my Blog look cooler than it actually is. For anyone still wanting to do a Video Response, I'm gonna keep it open for a couple more days. I know how deceptively long these take to actually get together and edit, so the contest will be open until noon on Tuesday the 25th of this month. That gives you about 3 days, so best of luck! Remember, the best, most creative one is going to be featured on the blog AS WELL as being featured video on the Urintown youtube profile, AS WELL AS having a permanent link to the video/your youtube profile on the keenanblogger site. I can't wait to see what you guys come up with!

Long time, no Blog
Hey guys. I realized I haven't done a written blog in a while, and it's been a long time come for a new one. Soooooo we are officially in Fayetteville, AR and not gonna lie, I kind of LOVE it. At first, I was a little nervous when they announced that our next stop on the tour was going to be the Walmart Headquarters of the World, but I can safely say that I have embraced both the fabulous town of F.Ville and maybe even slightly, Walmart.
By the way, please don't tell Helene Yorke that I visited a Walmart. Helene is currently the world's greatest scene stealer right now in WALMARTOPIA off-Bway, the show that satircally reveals all that is evil about Sam Walton.

(Helene is the crazy doing the splits)
But at Walmart I was able to purchase two amazing things.
1) A travel tripod that I can use to film the Blog while on the road
and
2) A Nintendo DS.
For those of ya'll not in the know, the DS was the hot Christmas gift last year according to my eleven-year-old cousin. It's MUCHO fun b/c Vanessa Ray (our Olive) and Jeffery James Binney (the Leaf/Barfee cover) both have them so we can play games against each other as well as "picto-chat" which is like IM but you draw each other things on the screen with a stylus pen. Amaaaazing. So I def spend every car ride now with Vanessa in the backseat either playing her in some Mario or drawing her naughty pictures. hehe.
We even discovered that the downtown of Fayetteville is kinda supes trendy. It reminds me a lot of a smaller version of Ann Arbor, which everyone knows is my favorite place on earth. Lots of really cute Mom & Pop's restaurants and chic little stores. The crowds haven't been huge in F.town, but they've been very good audiences nontheless. Apparently the weekend is almost sold out which is great.
As for the living sitch, Vanessa, Dana & I decided to be super economical and all three of us are currently sharing a hotel room. I know it sounds crazy, but it's rrrull fun. It's very REAL WORLD: SPELLING BEE. Plus we end up spending only like $25 a night so we have more per diem money to spend on Flamin' Hots and Nintendo DS games.
OHHHHH Also HUGE news. One of my very dearest friends in the world, Dave Hull, just got cast in WICKED!!!
Soooo excited for him. Dave graduated in my class and we def roll in the same entourage. He's talented in a way that's silly, so it's of no surprise that he got a job at Goodspeed right out of college and then starts WICKED 3 days after he finishes up the other gig.
I'm totes posting a vid of him. This is us doing a little routine in our dance workshop class back at Umich, choreographed by the girl in the middle (super hottie Mara Newbery). He's the guy in the middle at the beginning who is the hottest. Oh, AND he's on a singer track in WICKED, not even dancer, which means he's crazy good. Oh but, Yikes, don't watch me in that vid. I def forget the dance a couple of times.
s'all for now.

First Preview
So,
First of all I apologize for not updating in the past couple of days, but I have been busy in a way I never imagined. I'm currently typing this from my hotel in Fort Worth, Texas. Since we landed we've been working non stop on trying to get the show up and running. Today was the first day that we got to perform in front of an actual audience and it was thrilling! Up until this performance I was feeling a little less than enthused by my performance in the show. It's a really tough show to do in a studio with no people watching. I kept trying so hard to be funny that the show was escaping from me and it became about trying to land jokes rather than settling into the honesty of the character. This isn't to say that once we had an audience that everything fell into place for me, but I definitely stopped pushing as much and settled a little into the vulnerability and simplicity of the character. Ok eewww, enough of this Uta talk...I'm sure you're all bored.
I'd like you to know that even though I've been too busy to take loads of video footage of my time on tour so far, the upcoming video blogs are going to be amazing, based sheerly on the fact that this cast is HYSTERICAL! I'm not sure I've laughed this much ever. For once, I feel like the least funny person in the room. I'm so lucky to be in a cast who is so quirky and hilarious both on and off stage.
Okay, all for now. I MUST get some rest as tomorrow is our press opening....eeeeeek!!!
But keep checking in. I promise my "farewell to NYC" Blog should be completely edited and online very soon.

(so mad that Alton Brown is on the Food Network right now b/c I want to fall asleep to a better food TV show)

Andrew's Blog 5 (The one that's shot like a movie)
Yes, I know I JUST put up a video blog, but I finished this one too and couldn't wait any longer. I hope you enjoy. We used a tripod in this one...fancy...hehehe. Think, "Flight of the Conchords"-ish.
