Like I actually need to remind THIS crowd, but just in case it slipped your mind. THE BATTERY'S DOWN Ep. 2 premiers tonight. I watched the final cut of it last night, and I have to say, as much as I loved the first one, this one blows it out of the water. It's absolutely hysterical! I'll be posting both parts of the episode on the blog a little bit before midnight, but they're gonna read as private until Jake releases them. But who knows, check in early, he might jump the gun.

I'm Going on the Rosie Cruise!!!!!

So I am incredibly thrilled to announce that I was asked to perform on the Rosie Cruise departing in a few weeks!

I was literally jumping up and down on my hotel bed when I found out that I was going to spend a whole week on a cruise with some of the people I most admire in the theatre industry, as well as a ton of children and their families. And it don't hurt that I'm going to Cabo & Puerto Vallarta as well. Rosie was truly one of the most influential celebrity figures in my life growing up--between her love of live theatre and unapologetic political awareness--so getting to share a week on this cruise is honestly a dream come true.

So, apparently I'm jumpin' on the CCM train right now with 2 posts in a row, but come on, one of my favorite youtube celebs just released another video! Marla Mindelle is singing one of my favorite cabaret songs, "Deli" by Stephen Weiner and Glenn Slater. I first heard this song sung by one of my friends Todd Buonopane, but you can imagine my excitement when hearing it sung by a power-mixing, hilarious gal!

Yeah, so Marla's pretty much the deal. I mean, I'd take her glorious voice by itself, but if she's gonna give me crazy, quirky choices in a comic style sooo uniquely her own, I guess I'm okay with that too.

One of my friends, Alexa Green & her bestie Natalie Reder, recently put their CCM senior recital up on youtube. And aren't we all the better for it! In this clip, they sing a gorgeous Kerrigan-Lowdermilk song--"Freedom," from a show called THE UNAUTHORIZED BIOGRAPHY OF SAMANTHA BROWN, who Umich star Helene Yorke recently starred in at it's recent mounting at Sundance.



These girls are FANTASTIC and have such adorable chemistry. Can't wait 'til they spill onto the NY Theatre scene later this year!

I know that we were supposed to be opening the UrInTown store but our graphic designer has been swamped with ideas for merch and will be unable to open it this week :( But in turn, you'll get a great Vlog with a score of fantastic guest stars.

So my new favorite videos on youtube have got to be from Rev. Teddy Ray Phelps (i.e. Dana's friend & CAP21 grad Randy Blair). They're a hysterical and satirical new cautionary vlog show, sort of in the same vein as Borat. I gotta give this dude some crazy props. He's developed this self-hating homo, jesus-freak character who's just about as intriguing and fascinating as Tina Chen. Check out his vids.

Goodbye Toronto!

So I'm on the train right now heading back to the states and realizing how much I'm going to miss Toronto. Not only was it a really great city with great crowds, I can now also safely make this bold statement--Toronto has the most Andrew's Blog fans of anywhere in the world. I am not even joking, I would say all but MAYBE two performances had vlog watchers waiting at the stage door after. It got to be a running joke with Vanessa, Dana & I that we need to move to Canada b/c it's where our fan base was. We met a lot of really sweet folks and I promised a few to give 'em a shout out on the blog.
So this is to all the awesome people who waited in the c-c-c-cold Toronto weather to chat after the show.

It's true. I'll be [trying to] post the second--and in my opinion--more fun, part of the ANPM vlog tomorrow (Fri 8th, 12AM). I know I ALWAYS say it'll be up by midnight and USUALLY it doesn't get up til 2-4AM, but I'll be dutifully making that promise once again!
