Factory Girls

Check out some of the tunes from the new musical FACTORY GIRLS by Creighton Irons and Sean Mahoney. It's some crazy sick chick wailing music! I think the writing is fantastic and the vocals are silly good. And I mean you can't go all that wrong with Carrie Manolakos, Phoebe Strole and Cortney Wolfson all singing on the same demo. The whole batch of songs are great, but I confess to having listened to "The Strike" at least a quarter of their total plays.

Just got a TV show!

Hey dudes,
I'm thrilled to announce that when I got off the Rosie Cruise, I checked my messages and found out that I had booked a TV show! I'm going to be on the next season of the Nickelodeon TV show NAKED BROTHERS BAND. I actually begin filming tomorrow and will continue to do so throughout the summer. So basically I'm apologizing in advance if the blogs start coming a little more slowly at least for the next couple of weeks. I have a TON of footage, but with typical 10-hour shoot days, I have no idea how much time I'll have to do video editing. I'm hoping once I get a better feel of the set, that I'll be able to maybe do some NAKED BROS. video blogs to give you guys a look at what goes into shooting a TV show.

Who doesn't want to hear Natalie Weiss sing "Spark of Creation?"

This was the first of about fifteen Natalie Weiss videos that I managed to record in the course of about 28 hours. This one was from the amazing Colin Sheehan's benefit for MusiKids. Natalie singing this was certainly a highlight in the concert. She tears it up!

Live in NY and want to be in a photo shoot tomorrow?

Hey readers, are there any of you who live in the NY area and would be available to be extras in a photo shoot that I'm going to be in tomorrow? The photo shoot is a press shot for the new musical PEREZ HILTON SAVES THE UNIVERSE that's opening this summer. We'd like to get as many people as possible, so don't be shy! You'll be playing paparazzi so if you own any kind of electronics--cameras, microphones, boom poles-- bring them with you to have as props. It will be shooting from 12:45PM to 2PM tomorrow on the roof of a building in midtown. If you think you might be available, leave me a comment with some way of getting in contact with you, either e-mail or facebook name so I can give you the deets. Curtis Brown of the AMERICA'S NEXT PETITE MODEL fame will be photographing. It will be tons of fun I'm sure, and a hilarious way to get your face all over the city.

Silly Good

So especially after this week's episode of LEGALLY BLONDE, pretty much the whole world already knows the ridiculous talent that is Autumn Hurlbert. But if her heart-breaking, powerhouse performance of the show's title song was any indication of how incredible she is, then these crazy good music tracks that I found on Her Website are going to blow your mind. Be sure to check out her 4 demo songs (which she freaking even wrote btw!). Her voice is--and I try to use this word as little as possible due to it's ubiquitous overuse in our field--FIERCE! Whether or not she wins the big contract at the end (fingers crossed) she's clearly going to walk away from this competition as one of the new emerging stars of musical theatre. I was lucky enough to work with her a week ago on VOTE! and I'm delighted to report that she is also an incredibly sweet, incredibly humble young lady. She walked into rehearsal that first day and I must have looked like a commercial for that "Gotta go, gotta go, gotta go right now" laxative, I was trying so hard to contain my excitement. But anyway, check out her stuff. She's the deal.

I'm thrilled to bring you guys an exciting joining of forces to create the ultimate blog. So you guys know how I'm obsessed with that Craig Stevens kid. If you don't know what I'm talking about, check out his Blogg. Anyways, he is a recent MT graduate from Tidewater Community College in VA and he has chronicled his transition into becoming a professional actor in New York City by way of the vlog. His videos make me laugh, often for maybe the wrong reasons, but there's no doubt about it, this kid has a lot of heart. Well, I ran into him at a benefit and we decided to film a blog together. We actually ended up producing TWO videos. One will be airing on my youtube channel and it's a behind-the-scenes look at our first encounter.
The second will be airing on his channel and consists of an interview of me along with his girlfriend Janine. I'll of course be posting both on this site. But definitely check back later to see some true Vlog history!
