Praise the Lord, the current students at U of M just gave me the Holy Ghost!! This is an incredible video of the cast of RENT (Umich's Fall musical) performing "I'll Cover You (Reprise)." Kent Overshown, you are a god above all gods! Like really?! Your voice cannot just be that amazing and mature your Junior year!?? And Corbin Reid, f$#& you and your crazy high belt. Now I'm seriously depressed that I missed this production. I heard it was one for the history books.

Sorry, no goosebumps here. I'm all for finding your own way. But, the improvs do not resolve back into the chord - nothing goes back to tonic, and the song appears to leave the composer's original design. This is not supposed to be American Idol. If you can't sing what's written, or at least improvise within the chords, you have no business doing the job. The "teachers" should not have let this happen.
