Now I know I champion a lot of girl's voices and proclaim that they have "like the best voice I've ever heard." But honestly, if I had to choose only one to listen to for the rest of my life, it would be Chelsea Krombach's. I've had a love affair with her voice since I first heard it my freshman year at Michigan. I would sneakily bootleg everything she would perform during the 2 years that we were at school together, even to the point of recording her through the door at auditions. She has the most velvety smooth voice ever and is also one of the smartest, best musicians I've ever met. The way she is able to interpret songs both musically and lyrically always amazes me, so you bet I just about peed my pants when I stumbled across this clip on youtube last week. I've maybe listened to it 20 times. For any of you NYers, you can catch her over at WICKED where she performs daily in addition to being the Elphaba cover. I still haven't seen her go on, and am so jealous of anyone who has.

I saw Chelsea as Elphie in January 2008! :) She was SOOO AMAZING! And so nice when I met her after the show (she even let me retake a picture 3 times because my camera kept messing up!)
I really hate girls that riff over somewhere over the rainbow.
