Craig Stevens: Christmas Shoes

So Craig hasn't been making as many videos recently ever since his girlfriend moved to Scotland but he freaking DELIVERS with this RRRICH gem. It is no secret that "Christmas Shoes" is my least favorite Xmas song. I just feel like it's very manipulative and always seems to ruin my mood and come on the radio in between some really fun, cheerful music like "All I Want for Christmas" and Destiny Child's "Platinum Bells." I also love when I overhear people saying, "I was just driving in my car and that 'Christmas Shoes' song came on. Oh. My. God. I had to pull over on the side of the road because I was crying so hard. That song is so purty!" God Bless You Craig for intermixing that genius narrative with this caaampy song in a rendition that truly had me laughing out loud.

So I got a job to give the band who sang "Christmas Shoes"...NewSong...a ride from Wyoming to Nebraska once to a gig. Really random, since I was only 17.

And the whole time they were in my car I wanted to tell them how much I HATED that song. Never did. And then they gave me a CD with it on it. Such an awkward car ride.

I didn't know about this song until I saw Colleen do it with her sister. WHO WRITES this STUFF?? I don't listen to the radio but if I did I'd want to cut my head off if I heard this repeated over and over.

Hey Andrew! This is unrelated to both Craig Stevens and Christmas Shoes. But my sister and I went to see the tour of Wicked at Proctor's in Schenectady-- we were looking forward to seeing Helene Yorke, because you've talked about her on your blog/linked YouTube videos. Not only was she excellent, but Marci Dodd was out, so we got to see Carrie Manolakos! Who was also excellent. So, thanks Andrew's Blog for introducing us to super talented performers!

Um...I think I'm obsessed with the fact the he did a full out "check my pit stank" just before almost knocking that poster right on his head. And WTF to the no shirt situation...definitely LOVES IT.
