Rich! So two weeks ago I found a video of a white lady playing Effie in a community theatre production of DREAMGIRLS. This week I'm tipped off about a DREAMGIRLS performance that may be even MORE mind boggling. Thank you Alex Heinen for this absurd/delicious treat. If Regis hadn't announced the song title at the beginning I would have had NO idea that she was supposed to be singing "And I'm Telling You," as her rendition bears ZERO resemblence to the actual song. Come on! This is the Miss America pageant! Don't the gays run this!? Where was one of them to tell her No, no, no, no way are you allowed to sing that song! Matter of fact, only a gay person would be campy enough to recommend it.

LOVING the sassy backing track arrangement.
Case in point that this girl has no ounce of black in her.
That was dreadful!!! Would have been slightly better if she had picked a key and stuck with it, but man, oh man!
I hope she lost.
Hard.
My ears are bleeding. Not in a good way, either.
oh dear..... oh dear.
oh no oh noooo. its transforming dreamgirls into elevator music and leaving the right key behind in the process. so sad.
It's exactly like what they comment on in the show - how white folks screw up the "black sound." Ugh! Silly Arkansas.
I love how she scooped up on "No way I can." This is just choice.
She's no Effie. She's just Effin' bad.
