So I'm in Chicago with no cable hooked up yet, so what better time to waste a couple days editing old dance workshop videos to a campy club hit?! Enjoy. Here's an homage to Dance Workshop at The University of Michigan 2005-2007. I put it on Vimeo because Youtube rejected it. Hmmm apparently Andrew's Blog doesn't own the rights to Lady GaGa. Who knew?

This is EPIC! For those of you who haven't heard the bootleg of Patti freaking out at some audience member who took her picture here's the original link YIKES. Although I'm guessing everyone has already heard it because even to the little kids that I'm rehearsing MARY POPPINS with thought it was old news when it got played on break. But anyways, freaking genius Randy Blair of PEREZ HILTON SAVES THE UNIVERSE just made a sick/hilarious remix version of it that had me dying.

Praise the Lord, the current students at U of M just gave me the Holy Ghost!! This is an incredible video of the cast of RENT (Umich's Fall musical) performing "I'll Cover You (Reprise)." Kent Overshown, you are a god above all gods! Like really?! Your voice cannot just be that amazing and mature your Junior year!?? And Corbin Reid, f$#& you and your crazy high belt. Now I'm seriously depressed that I missed this production. I heard it was one for the history books.

...but this is almost more campy and ironic now. There are a lot of mean comments on this video, but I dunno, I kinda think this lady's got a secret solid gold hit on her hands. I, for one, have NOT stopped singing it since I heard it, and it truly gets richer and richer with every listen. Not to mention, I am impressed with anyone who can bring their head voice into a register that low. No one can achieve that kind of resonance in a low head voice without being a Hilary supporter. Thanks to Preston & Danny for this gem.

I remember when this production of SIDE SHOW was going on at CCM. I was supposed to see it with the rest of my friends but then had a rehearsal or a test or something surely not as fun as hearing number after number of high healthy belting. Luckily youtube has recently managed to preserve a clip of their performance. Get it done ladies.

My friend Cole Escola (of the VGL Boys youtube fame) has developed an exciting and twisted new series for the interweb. A man of many talents, he this time takes on the persona of 49-year-old, manic depressive, infinitely single Joyce. Darkly humorous and goofily unsettling, Joyce gives you that can't-tell-if-you're-more-tickled-or-depressed-by-her feeling that Lisa Kudrow lent so wonderfully to Valerie Cherish on her late series, THE COMEBACK. Enjoy!
