New THE BATTERY'S DOWN Tonight!!!

No that is not a scene from SHOWGIRLS, it's Dani Spieler on a circus ring at a strip club and it also happens to be the opening number of the new TBD episode. But trust me, it's just as campy SHOWGIRLS and it's a musical!
That's right. Don't forget to watch THE BATTERY'S DOWN tonight at midnight! This new episode is pretty much amazing in every way with three new songs, a slew or REALLY fancy guest stars, some rrrrriiicch plot twists not to mention it's been two months in the making so you know it's gonna be good.
Also check out the new website! It has a new blog section that all the TBD regulars are going to start posting on regularly. So fun!

Andrew's Blog Playlist of the Month

Hey guys this is a new thing I'm trying. I've gotten a few tweets and facebook messages asking to post the names of songs/artists that I've been playing on the blogs. So I figured this would be a good new addition to Andrew's Blog--a monthly playlist! This is a mixture of songs that you've heard in the background of my blogs as well as music that's inspiring me right now. I pretty much only use indie artists on the blog because of the recent major record label's crackdown of fair use on youtube, so this is a good way to get some of these amazing singer/songwriter's some exposure. Lastly, I of course urge you to BUY their music on itunes or emusic or whatever :D

"Folding Chair" -- Regina Spektor
"Summers" -- Loney, Dear
"San Francisco" -- Steve Tannen
"Failure" -- Laura Marling
"Animal" -- Miike Snow
"Actor Out of Work" -- St. Vincent
"Disappear" -- The Gabe Dixon Band
"The River" -- Anathallo
"Great God Bird" -- Sufjan Stevens
"Blood Bank" -- Bon Iver
"The Opposite of Hallelujah" -- Jens Lekman
"Tenuousness" -- Andrew Bird
"And the Hazy Sea" -- Cymbals Eat Guitars
"Feel" -- Jesse Harris
"Los Angeles, I'm Yours" -- The Decemberists
"Get Lonely" -- The Mountain Goats

Mr. G Evacuation Drill

I'm completely obsessed with Chris Lilley and SUMMER HEIGHTS HIGH. This was one of my favorite sequences from the season. I would have killed to have a drama teacher as rrrich as him.

Exciting News about Vanessa Ray!!!

Vanessa Ray, my best friend and certainly no stranger to Andrew's Blog, has some wonderful news! Starting today, she will be appearing as a regular on the soap opera, AS THE WORLD TURNS. For anyone familiar with the show, she will be playing Janet's younger sister, Teri Ciccone. ATWT airs at 2PM on CBS. I have yet to see her on it but Vanessa is truly one of the most gifted actresses I've ever met in my life so I'm sure she's going to hit the ground running. I have only watched maybe 3 episodes of a soap opera in my entire life and that was only because I was randomly on one, so I'm really excited for an excuse to get wrapped up in some new "stories." It's also an amazing excuse to get to see my friend every day even though we're separated by many miles of land :D

Total Eclipse of the Heart: Literal Video Version

I feel like I'm maybe a couple months late on this video but it is SOOOO good and I totally wouldn't have found it unless I was tipped off by one of you guys! What a campy, campy version of possibly the campiest music video ever made. Thanks to "zkb" for the tip. ZKB? Sounds like a long lost sibling of mine...Zenita Keenan-Bolger anyone?

PEAR: The Musical

So the winner of the first campy amazing video that you guys recommended goes to Sean Chang who linked to this amazing Sesame Street video--PEAR: The Musical! Especially after having just seen the HAIR revival, this had me squealing with delight! What campy person is writing for Sesame Street these days?? Connor Gallagher?? Thanks for giving me so many amazing tips so far. I now have a million more rich vids to post in the upcoming week.

UGHHHHH!!!! NEXT STOP BWAY!

I'm SORRY! Am I being punked??! A classmate of mine from Umich, Janine DiVita just crossed my mind and I thought to look for her on youtube. Janine was one of those ridiculous people in my class who from the first time I saw her perform as a freshman I was like, "WHAT!?! There's no way I go to school with people THAT good!" Well cut to today--she's already starred on Broadway (Rizzo in GREASE) and is pulling out a performance this mind-blowing that I can watch whenever I want. Get ready! She is going to give you CHILLS.

I Think I'm in Love

Jessie J has posted 2 new vids on her account and my love for them can only be described as scary. I'm not sure about many things in life but one thing I'd count on is her being crazy famous within the next couple of years.

Curtis Brown Photography: New TRENDY Website

Curtis Brown, the photographer behind many of the iconic shots surrounding young Broadway has a new amazing website! Totally check it out. I got lost for about 20 minutes, clicking around and marveling at his gorgeous body of work. Curtis, a dear friend, has been responsible for pretty much all the trendy shots that you've seen my friends and co-workers in including THE BATTERY'S DOWN, PEREZ HILTON SAVES THE UNIVERSE, MR. BROADWAY (The Broadway Beauty Pageant) and many, many others!

This is SOOO Rich! I'm pretty much certain this video will be viral by the end of the week. Special love goes to Kyle as Tony (most recent episode of BATTERY'S DOWN anyone?). Thank you collegehumor.com for a hilarious, well done inside theatre joke!
