Julie Kotarides is a rich, rich lady! She just finished up on the A CHORUS LINE tour where she played the incredibly important role of cut dancer: Vicky Vickers. Way to create the caaampiest backstory ever! This is a MUST for anyone who loves A CHORUS LINE. Julie, you are a crazy, hilarious girl!

Hey guys! Clearly a bunch of the people reading this are theatre folk, so I just wanted to tip you off on a really fun, new website! MTI Show Space is the hottest new place for people who love and live musical theatre. It offers actors and fans a space to network and research MTI's continuously expanding knowledge database.

What's really cool about MTI ShowSpace and makes it unlike other theatre sites is that it really focuses on the practice of putting on a show. You can share and view production photos and videos, use the forums to give and get advice about the process, even find and share hard-to-find sets, props and costumes. It's the kind of resource I would have killed for back in my drama club days! Also look out for a very exciting announcement from them that may possibly have something to do with Andrew's Blog ;D

I was once in PETER PAN in High School and we would always dream of all the miserable/hilarious technical cues that would be so easy to *%$# up. But none of those dreams compare to the reality of this Greenport community theatre production!! Thanks to Connor for the tip!

This is a blog entirely devoted to hilarious production shots from local and college productions of shows. It's accompanied by hilarious commentary and drinking games associated with the pictures. Here's an example.

Take a shot of Ouzo if there's an overtly homosexual actor in an aggressively heterosexual situation.

Take a shot of Rum if a wacky Screwball Lady's facial expression seems to say, "Get a load of THIS guy!"

Take a shot of Southern Comfort if there's Equity leads in the foreground somehow oblivious to some minor character emoting real hard at them... while standing only three feet behind them.

"Why-oh-why do I love an amateur publicity shot from an undergrad production, or a regional theatre, or a high school play?
It's got to be in the faces. Everyone's pushing sincerity real hard-- you have to be, 110%-- everyone's hitting a peak while standing frozen in hyper "stagey" ways to fit in frame, forced into melodrama, posing in ways never seen in the show."

So freaking cool!

Lin Manuel's new project (a hip-hop concept album about the life and death of Alexander Hamilton) made its debut at, oh ya know, THE WHITE HOUSE! First of all, I'm so excited to see what comes out of this. That verse he's spitting is all kinds of hot! Secondly, Michelle Obama is snapping along and her husband gave you a standing ovation! I mean, I'm pretty sure I could die happy!!
