Old Lady Gaga

Well, it's been almost two weeks since the world was abuzz with controversy surrounding Jake Wilson's last video "Baby Gaga," so much that the family decided to remove it from youtube. Now most directors in his situation might hold off, but Jake has just followed up with an even more hilarious Gaga parody! "Old Lady Gaga" stars the genius Jackie Hoffman and some sexy broadway dancer boys in a hilarious remake of "Alejandro." Well, NO ONE is going to call child services on this video. This has viral hit written all over it! Let's see if lightning strikes twice!

Next to Jazz Hands

Anyone who knows me well can tell you I have a special place in my heart for High School show choir. Naturally, this clip delivers on all levels. I'm not sure who thought NEXT TO NORMAL and jazz squares were a good marriage, but he sounds like my kinda guy! Bravo Carlsbad High School! This prompted me to search for other unlikely show choir pairings (i.e. "Caroline, or Change + show choir," or "show choir + Hello Again")

Book It!

Last week, author Mickey Rapkin sent me a copy of his new book,"Theater Geek." It chronicles the "real life drama of a summer at STAGE DOOR MANOR, the famous performing arts camp." I've got scores of friends who are a part of the STAGE DOOR mafia and didn't need much persuading to crack this one open. Well, I just finished it during a particularly long tech rehearsal for SUPERMAN and have got to say, I highly recommend it! I KNOW you guys will love this one. I mean, it's LITERALLY campy. Rapkin unfurls a utopia where middle schoolers belt out obscure Sondheim tunes, campers gush about how badly they want to go to UMich and backstage walls are graffitied with names like "Natalie Portman," "Julia Murney" and "Dana Steingold." After about 15 pages, I seriously started to wonder if he was writing this book for me and my friends. It's thrilling to read something and honestly feel in on the secret, which is what any theater buff or long time reader my blog are sure to feel when reading this delicious, hilarious book.
Check it out here! THEATER GEEK

Well, this is extremely adorable

This is the music video for one of my favorite songs on the most recent Andrew's Blog Playlist of the Month. It's for Josh Ritter's, "The Curse" and I think you'll find this music video incredibly endearing. It's pretty remarkable the impact that two marionettes can have. Check it out!

Gay McDonald's Spoof

Here's my new video spoofing the new French Gay McDonald's commercial! Just to go on record, I'm very happy that McDonald's is taking a pro-gay standpoint and thought the ad was very sweet, but it was just begging for someone to spoof. We already had our viral video of the week with "Baby Gaga," but I feel like this could be a viral video as well. Comment/Fav/ReTweet?!
